Wesley Fryer is an international learning consultant, author, digital storyteller, educator and change agent. With respect to school change, he describes himself as a "catalyst for creative engagement and collaborative learning." Wesley serves as a co-convener for the annual K-12 Online Conference each fall and is the co-director of the statewide Celebrate Oklahoma Voices digital storytelling project. He is the executive director of Story Chasers Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on empowering digital witnesses, citizen journalists, and active digital citizens using social media tools to constructively share their voices on the global stage.

Just as a stormchaser uses available technologies, knowledge and skills to pursue and document an impending thunderstorm, storychasers use their tools and abilities to document stories of local, regional, national or international interest. In our classrooms and after-school programs, as educators we can empower learners of all ages to become digital witnesses and responsible citizen journalists as storychasers. Whether on a school field trip, conducting research for a class project or school journalism assignment, or interviewing local residents to share about their lives and experiences, storychasers can and are utilizing a rich array of new media tools to create, communicate, and collaborate. Come learn how to join the storychaser's communication revolution, and catalyze the development of a diverse array of 21st century as well as traditional literacy skills with students in your local community who can become empowered storychasers!
Note this online, live presentation will be part 2 and focus primarily on "mechanisms and means." Part 1 was shared on May 1, 2009, at the PodStock09 conference, and focused on the "whys" of storychasing / the case for storychasing. An audio recording / podcast and SlideShare Slidecast of that presentation will be posted here soon. Participants are encouraged (if possible) to listen to / watch that May 1st presentation in advance of this keynote on May 24th.
