Live Online Session Venues

Sessions are conducted wherever the presenter wishes.  There is for example a Second Life strand, and some presenters have expressed an interest in WiZiQ, and there will be at least one session at http://tappedin.org

By default (if no particular venue is declared by the presenter) sessions will be held in Elluminate.  Once again this year we are grateful to Learning Times for providing us these spaces at no cost to those who benefit most directly from it (us :-).

These are the rooms provided:

Recordings

This page will list the recordings that take place in Event Room 1:

Here is a link to a page that will list the recordings that take place in Event Room 2:

Moderators at these sessions will need to ensure that they are recorded.  The procedure is:

  1. Enter the room as moderator (only the official moderator should do this)
  2. Assign at least one other person moderator priviledges in case of accidental disconnection.
  3. Before the session begins, delete any previous recordings
  4. Announce that the session will be recorded
  5. At an appropriate point START the recording
  6. For the recording, Introduce yourself and the presenter(s), state the name of the event WiAOC 2009 and the name of the session, and give the date
  7. Ensure that the session ends ten minutes before the hour to give participants time to get to the next one
  8. For the recording, repeat your name and that of the presenter(s), state the name of the event WiAOC 2009 and the name of the session, and give the date
  9. STOP the recording
  10. Ensure that all exit the room.  Remove any who do not respond to requests to leave.
  11. Be the last to exit the room (this will cause the recording to be posted at Elluminate servers)

Volunteer webcasters from http://worldbridges.net Webcast Academy will be entering as many sessions as need for sleep and stamina allow.  Audio where webcasters are present will be streamed on http://edtechtalk.com/live

At sessions where webcasters are streaming there is likely to be chat at the URL above, which I think is the same room as http://webheadsinaction.org/chat

(correct me if I'm wrong, right here in the wiki :-) - Vance
